Managing time when there just isnt any!

A teacher librarian needs to be organised, accountable, approachable and able to manage a number of  different aspects of the role at any given time.
Timetabling is essential to ensure that all runs as smoothly as possible even when sudden changes to routine occur or requests for bulk loans or urgent accessioning is required. Remaining calm and keeping focused is sometimes difficult but if we are to be seen as leaders in the school and central to supporting school communities, then calm we must keep!  It is important to have boundaries and let people know when their expectations are out of the realm of possibility. Having said that though, teachers and especially teacher librarians are in a ‘service’ industry. It is out job to assist  staff in collaboratively working together for the betterment of the education of our students and sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day!!
